Tanya joined the Ibis Johannesburg office as a Research Assistant in 2023. She supports Ibis’s projects which aim to expand access to SRHR and abortion services in South Africa. Prior to moving into the field of SRHR, she worked as a speech-language pathologist in the public health and education sectors, as well as working as a junior research analyst in the private sector. Tanya holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Pathology from the University of Pretoria and a Master’s degree in Sexual Reproductive and Perinatal Health from the University of Dalarna. As part of her post-graduate studies, she co-conducted a research study with educators in Gauteng to investigate their roles and experiences in relation to teaching GBV prevention and gender equality.
