Chiara joined Ibis in 2018 and manages both qualitative and quantitative research projects, primarily with abortion accompaniment groups and safe abortion hotlines in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa. Chiara currently works on projects aimed at developing and evaluating interventions that expand access to the abortion accompaniment model of care, understanding experiences of accompaniment and abortion at later gestations, and understanding the role of normative beliefs in access to, and experiences of, abortion. In her work, Chiara is committed to building shared power and decision-making between researchers and activist partners to ensure that their needs and the needs of the individuals they serve are centered throughout the research process. Chiara holds a Master of Public Administration in Development Practice (MPA-DP) from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs, and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and International Relations from Brandeis University.
