Izamar serves as Project Coordinator for Free the Pill, a coalition-driven campaign to educate and engage the public in support of over-the-counter (OTC) birth control pills in the United States. In this role, she provides administrative, logistic, and communications support for Free the Pill.
Prior to joining Ibis, Izamar worked in pediatric mental health, managing contracts and coordination with local school districts to provide psychoeducational evaluations for students in need of specialized accommodations and individualized education plans. She has served as an interpreter for Centro Legal de la Raza’s pro-bono immigration program. Izamar also collaborates with members of her community to provide mutual aid to individuals working to make ends meet.
Izamar holds a Bachelor of Arts in Global Humanities and Critical Thought from Mills College and is a trained full-spectrum doula.
