We are pleased to announce the appointment of Thoai Ngo as chair of Ibis’s Board of Directors. As director of the Population Council’s Poverty, Gender, and Youth Program, Thoai oversees efforts to develop and test innovative solutions and scale up successful strategies to improve the health and well-being of adolescents, to accelerate positive demographic trends, and to strengthen the resilience of vulnerable populations to adapt to environmental shocks and stressors. He also directs the GIRL Center. Thoai has been a member of Ibis’s Board of Directors since December 2016.
Prior to the Population Council, Thoai was the senior director and vice president of research at Innovations for Poverty Action where he oversaw more than 250 impact evaluations of programs and policies designed to tackle global poverty issues. As head of global research at Marie Stopes International, Thoai was instrumental in building the organization’s international research department across 37 countries.
“Thoai brings a wealth of research and management experience to the board chair role and I am very excited to continue working with him to ensure Ibis’s rigorous research and principled partnerships increase people’s ability to actualize their right to a safe, pleasurable, and healthy sexual and reproductive life,” said Kelly Blanchard, president of Ibis Reproductive Health.
Please join us in congratulating Thoai!
